VideoPsalm 1.15 introduces the possibility to assign an audio MP3 to a song and play it automatically while you display its lyrics. This feature has been requested many times, and is particularly useful for churches that have no musicians. To assign/play an audio MP3 with a song: 1. Go into “Edit” mode (if not already into it): 2. Click on the song to which you want to assign an MP3: 3. In the middle panel, click the "Files" tab: The "Files" tab enables you to assign an MP3 file to the song: 4. Import audio files into your VideoPsalm The list of MP3 files is empty, as the setup contains no audio file sample at the moment. Use the "Import" button to import into your VideoPsalm MP3 files that you have in your PC: Use the "Navigate" button to open the folder where VideoPsalm stores its MP3 files. VideoPsalm reflects in the list the MP3 files located into its Audio folder. Press the "Import" button to import audio files located into your PC: The drop-down list reflects the MP3 files that you have imported into your VideoPsalm: You can then assign one of these MP3 files to the song. 5. Play the audio When you display the lyrics of a song that has an associated audio file, VideoPsalm displays a music player: The music player has following functions:
To start the playing of the audio, press the "down" key. In this case, it will not display the next slide, but start the audio. To disable playing the audio, press the mute button. When you put into an agenda a song that has an audio file associated to it, VideoPsalm will save the audio into the agenda file. When you open the agenda on another PC, the audio file will also be there. VideoPsalm is compatible with following audio files: .mp3 .wav .wma .a52 .aac .aiff .ac3 .ape .dts .flac .it .m4a .m4p .mka .mlp .mod .mp1 .mp2 .oga .ogg .oma .s3m .spx .wv .xm VideoPsalm cannot play midi files at the moment. VideoPsalm will remember you to save your changes to your songbooks when you close it. Note This article applies to any style attribute and any style level. For this task, we will consider a song with four verses and the image background style attribute. Let's say that we have assigned:
Before reading further, consider reading following articles: How to change the background of a song or a whole songbook - Cascading styles part one How to assign a background to a song verse or to the whole song - Cascading styles part two How to adjust slide text margins Use any of the following methods to remove the dove image from verse 2. Verse 2 will then be displayed with the image from the lower style level (the "Song" style level): sunflowers. Method A: Use the "Brush" icon 1. In the slide panel, click on song verse 2. This will automatically set the style level to "Verse", as shown at the top left: 2. Click the "Brush" icon located in the toolbar at the top-left, in the "Style" group: The brush has the effect of removing all style attributes at the currently selected style level, for the selected item (the song verse 2). In our case, it will remove the "Dove" image from the style assigned to song verse 2, which will then be displayed with the image from the lower style level (the "Song" style level): sunflowers. Note The "Brush" icon is disabled when there is no specific style attribute set at the selected level. Method B: Use the style explorer and its "Brush" icons Open the style explorer with the help of the tiny button located down-right in the "Style" group: This expands the style explorer panel. Expand the "Background" panel by clicking on it: The style explorer tells at which level any specific style attribute is set. There you can remove a specific style attribute (whereas with method A, you remove all of them at once, which is not necessarily what you want...). Click the "Brush" icon located to the right of the property that you want to remove: The guitar icon at the right indicates that the corresponding attribute is set at the "Song Verse" style level. A blue bullet means "Base" level. Use the style explorer whenever it is not clear at which level an attribute is assigned. Method C: Remove all the above style attributes 1. Click on the song, either in its songbook, or in the agenda (if you have it there): This will automatically set the style level to "Song", as shown at the top left: 2. Open the drop-down menu at the right of the "Brush" icon and click "Delete all the above style attributes": This menu removes all attributes assigned to higher level styles (song verses in this case).
Style attributes assigned to the "Song" style (the currently selected style level) are preserved. Note The methods described in this article apply similarly to any style attribute:
