There are several places from where you can edit the footer and header content:

or

2. In “Edit” mode, in the middle panel, after selecting the “Songbooks” style level:

To select the “Songbooks” style level, simply click the “Songbooks” button:

Or alternatively, select the “Songbooks” style level in the style level drop-down, at the top-left in the ribbon:

or
3. From within the style explorer, where you can additionally set the header and footer at any style level (not only at the “Songbooks” style level).

How to display the song title in the header instead of in the footer
By default, the song title is displayed in the footer, at the bottom.
To display the song title in the header, simply swap the footer and header text templates.
If necessary, you can add-in some free text and mix it with predefined fields.

To remove the header or footer content, select the “Delete all fields” entry, or type-in a blank in the text box:

Predefined fields
VideoPsalm recognizes a wide range of predefined fields, and replaces them by their value when it displays a slide.

For example, if the template contains the field [Song title], VideoPsalm will replace this field with the song title when displaying a song verse slide.

Use the field drop-down list to add a predefined field, so that you don't need to type-it in yourself.

If you prefer to type-in the predefined fields, make sure that you do it without any spelling mistake or casing error, or else the text will be considered as plain text by VideoPsalm and displayed as such.

Hi Rod,
To create a a "Welcome" slide, follow these steps:

1. In the "Edit" tab, click "New songbook" and name it "Announcements".

2. Click the "Add song" button. This adds a new song to the announcement songbook. Name it "Welcome", and fill the song lyrics with your announcement text, for example "Welcome to Mt. Calvary".

3. Add this announcement (as a song) to your agenda.

The following article describes this task more into details:

Does it work for you?

Hi Lacey,

To switch VideoPsalm back to "Edit" mode, and display the three panels and the toolbar, click the "Pencil" button located to the right of the dialog, at the bottom.
VideoPsalm will remember this setting the next time you start it.

We have a Songbook that we use for sermon notes, with a Song for each sermon and a Verse for each point. I'm looking for a way to change the text in the header for each Verse ( sermon point ). I see the [Verse note] field, but have been unable to find how to use it. Is that what I'm looking for, or is there another way?

Hi Doug,

To adjust the header content of a specific verse:

1. Open the style explorer (Toolbar -> "Text" tab -> "Styles" group -> "Style explorer" button).

2. In the "Style explorer" panel, expand the "Header" section.

3. Click the song verse in the top-right panel.
This will select the "Verse" style level.

4. In the "Header fields", type-in the text to display.

5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for every verse.

Does this work for you?

This method would work, but would be very time/labor intense if there were many variations. I'm looking for a tag that I can put in the template for the header that I can then type into the text of the song/verse on the fly and it display in the header.

A simple example would be if I wanted to display a dialogue with the speaker of the text's name in the header:

Verse 1 [John]
Hello, Jane!

Verse 2 [Jane]
Hello, John!

In this trivial example, I would want to be able to have something like "Spoken by John" in the header. Is that what the [Verse notes] tag is for? If so, how do you use it?

Thank you for your help.

Thank you for your suggestion to insert an image in the header.
This is not possible at the moment.
Please let me know more about your scenario by sending me an email maybe, or even here.

Hi Anna,

To display the song copyright in the slide footer, do the following:

1. Make sure that you are in "Edit" mode.

2. Click the "Songbooks" button.
This will display the "Songbooks" properties in the middle panel:

3. Set the footer fields to the following value, by adding [Song copyright] at the right place:

[Song title] ([Songbook abbreviation] [Song number])
[Song copyright] [Church licence]

4. Save your changes.
